The celebration took place on Saturday, July 8, 2023, under the theme: ‘Buy made-in-Ghana goods and use made-in-Ghana products and support Ghanaian industries and create employment for the youth.’
The Bakatue Festival is celebrated by the chiefs and people of Elmina in the Central Region. The festival is celebrated on the first Tuesday in the month of July every year.
This year’s festival also coincided with the 25th anniversary of the installation of the Paramount Chief, Nana Kwadwo Conduah VI.
Demonstrating the unique culture and tradition of the people, the colourful durbar of chiefs interspersed with Asafo dance, attracted a number of people across the country.
