A teenage boy has died from an alleged stray bullet fired by a celebrant at a fire festival at Aboabo in the Asokore Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
Masawudu Absul-Aziz, 14 years, was hit by the bullet during the firing of musketry, the display of magical process and lighting of fire as part of the festival.
Two other persons also sustained injuries.

Family of the deceased says Masawudu was found lying in a pool of blood after the ceremony.
The police visited the scene, as the body was conveyed to the morgue.
The ‘Bugum’ Fire Festival is an annual celebration among the people of Dagbon, Mamprugu, and the Nanumba ethnic groups to mark a historical event on the Mole-Dagbon calendar.

Migrants from the regions of the north residing in the Ashanti region often join in the celebration of the festival.
