Samuel Atta Akyea, Chairman of Parliament’s ad-hoc committee probing the controversial tape plotting the ouster of the Inspector General of Police, says the next sitting of the committee will be on October 2.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, he noted that it is going to be a week-long hearing when the committee resumes sitting.
“The committee is resuming work on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and the 6th of October God willing,” he said.
According to him, the hearing, when the committee resumes will be an in-camera hearing, explaining it is due to security implications.
“All the witnesses will congregate with their lawyers and then they are supposed to give us the evidential support in relation to what they said openly and privately,” he stated.
When the committee finishes its work, however, a report will be delivered to Parliament; this report will be made public and will then be discussed by Parliament in order for resolutions to be made, he added.
