Republic Bank (Ghana) PLC as part of its commitment to supporting the healthcare sector and the well-being of Ghanaians, has donated essential hospital equipment to the Wassa Dunkwa Government Hospital in the Amenfi West District of the Western North Region.
The items donated included Pulse Oximeters, Digital BP Apparatus, Weighing Scales for Infants, Nebulizers, State-of-the-Art Baby Cots, Screens, Signboards and many more.
The donation forms part of the Bank’s broader effort to support healthcare institutions in Ghana. It is to promote accessible, high quality health delivery for all, which is consistent with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG-3), Good Health and Well-Being and in alignment with the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Presenting the items on behalf of the Bank, Mr. Fred Mensah Anyamesem, the Northern Sector Manager, indicated that Republic Bank believes corporate citizenship goes beyond financial services, and that it encompasses actively participating in and supporting the well-being of the people. “Our donation today is a testament to our unwavering commitment to this belief and we trust that these items will enhance the hospital’s capacity to serve patients and further the hospital’s mission of delivering healthcare services with excellence”, Mr. Anyamesem said.
He further mentioned that Republic Bank is deeply committed to the betterment of the communities it serves under its CSR arm, the ‘Power to Make a Difference (PMAD)’, and will continue to stand with local healthcare heroes and the patients they care for.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Mr. Daniel Tetteh Agudey, the Municipal Director of Health expressed the hospital’s appreciation to the officials of Republic Bank.
He indicated that the equipment will be well maintained and put to good use.
He further mentioned that, the Wassa Dunkwa Government Hospital plays a pivotal role in providing healthcare to the people in the Amenfi district and beyond, and the equipment provided will help bolster the hospital’s capabilities in delivering the highest quality care to patients.
Assisting Mr. Daniel Tetteh Agudey to receive the items were, Dr. Steve Bamain Tuolenuo Kpangkpari, Doctor-in-Charge of the hospital and Nana Kwasi Addai, Head of the Asankragua Stool Divisional Area of the Asankragua Traditional Council. Also present during the donation were the Staff of the Asankragua Branch of the Bank who contributed towards the purchase of the items as part of their Staff Volunteering commitment to the community.
