The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the constitution of committees tasked with overseeing the vetting process for Parliamentary aspirants in constituencies with incumbent MPs.
This announcement was conveyed in a press statement signed by the General Secretary of the party, Justin Kodua Frimpong on January 1, 2024.
According to the statement, the vetting of aspiring Parliamentary Candidates is scheduled to take place in all regional capitals from Wednesday, January 3, 2024, to Friday, January 5, 2024.
Furthermore, the NPP has instructed all Regional Executive Committees to disseminate information regarding the date, time, and venue of the vetting process to their respective constituencies and aspiring Parliamentary Candidates.
The statement also revealed that the party has appointed specific individuals to serve as National representatives on the Vetting Committees across various regions.
Additionally, the vetting of aspiring Parliamentary Candidates in the Bawku Central, Ketu North, and Akatsi North constituencies has been confirmed by the party.
The statement further said that the party has established a National Parliamentary Appeals Committee (NPAC) to address appeals from aspirants and other stakeholders.
The NPP expressed its anticipation of the full cooperation of all stakeholders in ensuring the smooth conduct of the primaries and extends its best wishes to all aspiring candidates.
