Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfro constituency, Sylvester Tetteh, on Saturday, won the New Patriotic Party parliamentary primary held at the Tuba AstroTurf in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
Mr Sylvester Tetteh polled 590 votes against his closest contender, Madam Vida Agyekum Acheampong and Kojo Kuranchie.
He was declared winner by the Principal Electoral Officer of the Electoral Commission Mr Kwabena Ape Ayeh.
Madam Vida Agyekum Acheampong polled 465 while Mr Kojo Kuranchie got 34 votes.
The event was highly successful apart from an incident that halted voting when a delegate’s name was missing in the voter album.
It took the intervention of the police to bring the situation under control.

In his victory speech, Mr Tetteh thanked his supporters and his campaign team for their hard work which has resulted in his resounding victory.

Mr Tetteh called for unity in the party adding that his victory is for the party and therefore everyone should be on board to ensure the party breaks the eight, while he also breaks the four in the constituency.
He also warned his supporters against wild celebrations that have potential to affect party unity.
Earlier on, the National Chairman of the party, Mr Stephen Ntim visited the voting centre to have first information on how voting was conducted.
