Parliament has suspended this afternoon's sitting following the death of Member of Parliament for Ejisu and Deputy Finance Minister, Dr John Kumah.
The legislator is reported to have passed away in the early hours of this morning, Thursday, March 7.
He is reported to have died after a short illness.
When news of his death reached the House, the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin asked that the House take a 10-minute break.
The break, initially intended to last about 10 minutes, extended to about 30 minutes.

When the Speaker and other legislators entered the House to resume the sitting, most legislators, obviously dejected, broken, and devastated about the news, could not continue the debate.
Prior to the news, Parliament was expected to continue the debate on President Akufo-Addo's State of the Nation Address.
The Speaker, who was deeply affected, instructed that they take one question on the debated matter.
However, when a legislator took up to contribute to the debate, he requested that the House be adjourned because the MPs did not seem to be in the right frame to debate on the matter.
The Speaker then adjourned the proceedings to Friday, March 8, at 10 am.
