Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has lauded swimmer, Abeku Jackson, for winning bronze in the men’s 100m butterfly.
Jackson’s feat extended Ghana’s medal haul at the African Games to five, with the swimmer adding to the silver he won in the 50m butterfly on Sunday.
Mustapha Ussif praised the 23 year old for his achievement, and tasked other athletes to take a cue from him.
“I’m super excited about Abeku Jackson’s two medals. I’m looking forward to more medals, not only from swimming but other athletes as well,” he said.
“That is why we gave them good opportunities, especially for camping.
“We’re expecting more athletes to put in effort to win more medals for Ghana,” he added.
“This is why we gave them more opportunities for camping”

So far, on two athletes, Abeku Jackson, and Winnifred Ntumi (weightlifting), have won medals for Ghana.
