The Accra Regional Police Command has invited actress Yvonne Nelson, Selorm Dramani Dzramado, and Henry Osei Akoto for a meeting over their request to hold a vigil protesting the recent erratic power supply.
In a letter sighted online and signed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Arhin Kwasi Annor, the police noted that the meeting would be to discuss the modalities of the planned demonstration.
The meeting with the actress and other conveners will come off on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 02:00 pm.
This comes after Yvonne Nelson informed the Ghana Police Service of her intention to protest against government.
In a statement shared on May 9, she indicated the intention to hold the vigil on May 25.

Addressed to the Inspector General of Police, the letter stated that the vigil would take place at Revolution Square at 8:30 am and conclude at 12 midnight.
Yvonne Nelson had previously invited Ghanaians to join her in a massive campaign against recent erratic power cuts in a tweet.
The actress is seeking the support of the general public for the imminent protest against 'dumsor’ and hopes for a similar turnout as the 2015 dumsor protest she organised along with other celebrities.
