Former Asante Kotoko striker Steven Mukwala has signed a three-year deal with Simba S.C. of Tanzania following the expiration of his contract with the Porcupine Warriors.
Simba, who placed third in the Tanzanian Premier League season, have reportedly offered the Ugandan international a monthly salary of $9.000, with a healthy signing on fee of $130,000.
Mukwala spent a fruitful two years at Kotoko, but has parted ways with the club as part of their massive player overhaul amidst their preparations for next season.
The forward finished as Kotoko's top scorer last season with 14 goals.
The 24-year-old sent a heartfelt farewell message to the Kotoko fraternity, particularly thanking the Asantehene.
"This is probably the saddest day of my life. As I say goodbye to the home that has given me a platform to grow my career. I want to thank His Majesty, the King, who welcomed me to Ghana," he tearfully said.
"I am greatly honored by the words of wisdom of the King. I am glad to be part of the profound family. I hold you so dear in my heart because you are the best."
Mukwala is part of the 21 players who have left Kotoko with 14 additions expected to be made for the upcoming campaign.
