Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh also known as "Napo" to ensure that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia never regrets selecting him as his running mate for the forthcoming 2024 general election.
The venerable chief admonished Dr Opoku Prempeh, his grandson, to remain loyal to Dr Bawumia and heed his advice.
Speaking at Dr Opoku Prempeh's presentation on Tuesday, July 9, Otumfuo urged him to listen and obey Dr Bawumia.
"Don’t let Dr Bawumia regret selecting you as his running mate. Don’t ever left him regret that. Be humble and submissive to him. Do only what he teaches you to do," he advised.
Addressing the arrogance tag on Dr Opoku Prempeh, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, while standing by his grandson, urged him not to validate this perception.
The respected chief extended his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, Dr Bawumia, and the entire New Patriotic Party (NPP) for choosing Dr Opoku Prempeh as the running mate.
He also urged Dr Bawumia to mentor Dr Opoku Prempeh effectively and to inform him (Otumfuo) if he deviates or behaves inappropriately.
“Train him and when he goes wrong, tell me and I will advise him,” he added.
