Seasoned photojournalist David Andoh from Multimedia Group Limited (MGL) has been awarded Photojournalist of the Year at the 28th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards.
The prestigious ceremony was held on Saturday, September 28, 2024, recognizing outstanding achievements in journalism across various categories.
Andoh received the award for his remarkable ability to capture compelling images that convey powerful narratives, shedding light on critical social and cultural issues in Ghana.
His diverse portfolio includes a wide range of subjects, from poignant human interest stories to significant national events, all presented through a distinctive lens that engages and informs viewers.
The judges praised Mr. Andoh for his creativity, technical skill, and unwavering dedication to his craft. They noted that his work goes beyond mere documentation, evoking emotion and provoking thought.
Notably, his award-winning piece, titled "Pregnant Woman Fills Potholes on Obuasi Road," exemplifies how his photography has highlighted pressing issues, making them accessible to a broader audience through impactful visual storytelling.
