The Chiefs and people of Akatsi North, in the Volta Region, have commended the NPP for the significant impact of the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy on education in the country.
Welcoming Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the NPP, to Ave Havi in the Akatsi North Constituency on Tuesday, the Chiefs praised the NPP government for implementing numerous social intervention programs, with special recognition for the Free SHS policy.
The Free SHS policy, the Chiefs noted, has "revolutionized education by providing millions of Ghanaian children with access to secondary education for free."
Speaking on behalf of the Chiefs, Torgbui Adogo Agbalek also expressed gratitude to the NPP for various projects in the area, particularly those at Ave Senior High School, including the construction of dormitory and classroom blocks, as well as the provision of a school bus.

Other highlighted projects included the construction of District Assembly offices, a Magistrate Court and bungalows, kindergarten blocks in the district, the Agenda 111 District Hospital, and the supply of DRIP equipment for road rehabilitation.
The Chiefs commended and honored Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s Presidential Candidate, for his impactful leadership as Vice President, which they said had improved governance and enhanced efficiency in public service.
"We acknowledge his dedication to public service and his unwavering commitment to the country's progress, evident in his tireless efforts to drive economic growth, improve governance, and enhance the overall well-being of Ghanaians," the Chiefs said of Dr. Bawumia.
The Akatsi North traditional rulers honoured Dr. Bawumia by placing traditional leaves around his neck, symbolizing their confidence and support for him, and expressed their anticipation of his swearing-in as the next President of Ghana next year.
