President Akufo-Addo has urged citizens to ensure a peaceful and respectful electoral process.
He assured the public that the security agencies, led by the police, have made comprehensive preparations to maintain law and order before, during, and after the elections.
The President said this when the addressed the nation on Friday, December 6, 2024.
“The security agencies, led by the police, have also made all the relevant deployments and preparations that will guarantee the peace, law, and order of the nation prior to, during, and after the election. Let us all cooperate with them to ensure that the election is conducted in an atmosphere devoid of intimidation and violence,” he stated.
President Akufo-Addo also encouraged Ghanaians to approach the polls with tolerance and mutual respect, emphasizing the importance of unity and duty to the nation.
“Let us go and cast our ballots in peace and dignity and in an environment of tolerance and mutual respect. Each one of us should go out and do his or her duty to ensure a peaceful and prosperous Ghana and vote freely for your preferred candidate,” he added.
President Akufo-Addo also said he was confident in the Electoral Commission (EC) to deliver a free, fair, and transparent election.
