Tamale North MP, Alhassan Suhuyini, has declared that all appointments made after the December 7 elections will be thoroughly reviewed and possibly reversed when the new government assumes office on January 7.

Speaking in an interview with Citi FM, Mr Suhuyini urged the outgoing administration to refrain from making rushed appointments and promotions during the transition period.

He cautioned those benefiting from such actions to consider the implications.

“I caution beneficiaries of these actions not to allow those in authority to jeopardise their legitimate cases for promotion. While you may have a valid case for advancement, engaging in such practices during the transition makes it difficult for the new administration to address these matters fairly,” he stated.

“Any improper promotion or appointment made during this transitional period will be scrutinised and could likely be reversed.”

His remarks come after the formation of the Transition Team, in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (Act 845).

The team, inaugurated on Wednesday, December 11, at the Jubilee House in Accra, marks the commencement of a structured and peaceful transition of power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration to the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The National Transition Team, tasked with overseeing the handover process, will play a crucial role in ensuring an orderly transfer of power.

It will work closely with representatives from the outgoing government to facilitate a seamless and efficient political transition.
