Acting spokesperson for President John Dramani Mahama, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, has confirmed that the President is on track to meet the deadline for announcing his cabinet appointments.
Speaking on JoyFM’s Super Morning Show on Tuesday, January 21, Mr Ofosu Kwakye highlighted the meticulous approach President Mahama is employing to select a team of capable individuals who reflect his vision for national development.
“President Mahama is committed to assembling a competent and diverse cabinet that can deliver on his promises to the people of Ghana. The process is progressing smoothly, and the final list will be announced before the end of today as promised,” Mr Ofosu Kwakye stated.
Addressing questions about the potential criticism of the appointments, Mr Ofosu Kwakye underscored the President’s openness to inclusivity and differing viewpoints.
He noted that the appointments would demonstrate President Mahama’s ability to balance experience with fresh perspectives while adhering to his commitment to good governance.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu also took the opportunity to contrast this approach with that of the previous administration under Nana Akufo-Addo.
“Unlike the former President, who often prioritised partisan loyalty over merit, President Mahama is determined to select individuals based on their qualifications and ability to deliver results. This will ensure the effective execution of government policies and programmes,” he added.
