The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has charged the Chief Executive Officer of Elmina Sharks, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, following an alleged attack on match officials during a Division One game against Swedru All Blacks.
The match, held on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Nduom Sports Complex, concluded with a 1-0 defeat for Elmina Sharks. Post-match, some players and officials of Elmina Sharks reportedly attacked the match officials.
According to the GFA, Dr Nduom has been charged with breaching Articles 34(1)(a) and 34(1)(b) of the GFA Division One League Regulations, 2019, as well as sections of the GFA Disciplinary Code.
The charges allege that Dr Nduom interfered with the match by entering the inner perimeter and field of play without authorization to protest a penalty decision.
He is also accused of inciting players and officials of his club against the match officials and using social media commentary to further incite fans and officials against them.
Dr. Nduom has been given until Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to respond to the charges.
