Legon Cities assistant coach, Saeed Adnan, insists that Asante Kotoko weren't the better team despite their defeat over the weekend.
Kotoko beat Legon Cities 2-0 on matchday 23 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The league resumed after a four-week break due to the tragic death of Francis Frimpong, known as “Nana Pooley” in Nsoatre on matchday 19.
Speaking to the media after the game, Adnan claimed that Kotoko's goals were fortunate rather than a result of superior play.
"If you see the two goals that we conceded, these were not chances, it's not like Kotoko played better and they created chances and scored," he said.
"There are goal scoring opportunities and there are goals that come without creating chances”
Legon Cities, who are on the cusp of relegation, sit in 17th position of the league after poor form of results in the first round of the league. They have accumulated 17 points out of a total 57.
Five wins, two draws so far this season, and their biggest win so far in the league this season was a 2-1 win against Kotoko at home on matchday 8.
Legon Cities' struggles continue, as they have never won an away match so far this season in the league and their best away performance has been a draw.
The recent defeat to Kotoko was their seventh loss in 10 league games.
The Royals host Berekum Chelsea next at the Legon Stadium on matchday 24.
