The Chief Executive of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Mr Godwin Tamekloe (Esq.), on Monday, July 21, undertook an inspection tour of the Sahara Depot and the Tema Oil Jetty to observe the ongoing discharge of Aviation Turbine Kerosene (ATK).
The visit formed part of the Authority’s routine oversight to ensure adherence to safety and operational standards in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.
Mr Tamekloe, who was accompanied by senior technical staff of the NPA, interacted with operators and personnel on-site and received briefings on the discharge procedures, product quality assurance measures, and environmental safety protocols in place.

He expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance observed and reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring product integrity.
“Our presence here is to reassure Ghanaians that the NPA is actively monitoring operations across the value chain to uphold safety and quality,” Mr Tamekloe stated.

“ATK, being a critical product for aviation, demands the highest standards, and we are pleased with what we’ve seen so far at the Tema Oil Jetty.”
The NPA Chief Executive further emphasised that such visits would continue across other depots and installations across the country to strengthen transparency, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance in the petroleum sector.
