Black Stars defender Tariq Lamptey has signed a four-year deal with Fiorentina on transfer deadline day.
The Italian side are reported to have paid £6 million to Brighton for the services of the right-back.
Brighton coach Fabian Hurzeler said: "He's been a valued player throughout his time, but more than that he is a brilliant professional and person.
"This is a good opportunity for him to play both Serie A and European football. On behalf of everyone at the club I'd like to wish him all the very best for the future."
The Ghanaian will provide cover and competition for Brazilian wing-back Dodô, but his ability to operate on either flank offers Fiorentina tactical flexibility.
Lamptey joined Brighton in 2020 from Chelsea and made over 100 appearances, earning praise for his pace and attacking flair.
However, his progress has been hampered by injuries, limiting him to just 15 Premier League appearances last season, though he still managed two goals and several assists.
He is part of Ghana’s 24-man squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali on September 4 and 8 respectively.
