Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford believes his instructions got them over the line against “bogey side” Dreams FC in their Ghana Premier League opener.
Dreams had secured a narrow 2-1 victory at the Kpando Sports Stadium last season.
But Ebenezer Abban converted a 25th-minute penalty to exact revenge over the Still Believe side.
"Dreams has been a bogey club for us and it was not easy beating them,” Bashir said at the post-match interview.
"I am happy with the instructions I gave to my attackers that they should control [the ball], and when they enter the 18-yard [box], they should not panic because there's another option if they are brought down [penalty]. And that was the only goal of the match.”
Heart of Lions sit fifth after Week 1 of the top-flight competition.
The Kpando-based side face newly promoted Eleven Wonders in their next encounter.
