Yapei Kusawgu Member of Parliament, John Abdulai Jinapor, has launched a GH¢1,000,000 Education Scholarship Fund to support brilliant but needy students in his constituency.
Announcing the initiative in a Facebook post on Monday, October 6, the MP said the fund is designed to ease the financial burden on parents while ensuring equal access to quality education for young people.
The scheme, valued at GH¢1,000,000, will provide financial assistance to students across different levels of education, from basic through to tertiary institutions.
Mr Jinapor said the intervention is a response to the challenges many families face in financing their children’s education.
Speaking at the launch, he reaffirmed his commitment to human capital development, describing education as “the most powerful tool for transforming lives and communities.”
He further assured constituents that the scholarship fund will be transparently managed, with beneficiaries selected strictly on merit and genuine need.
According to him, the Education Scholarship Fund is part of a broader vision to empower the youth, improve educational outcomes, and drive sustainable development in the Yapei Kusawgu Constituency.
“This initiative is about giving every young person the opportunity to achieve their potential, regardless of background,” Mr Jinapor emphasised.
