Another person has been confirmed dead in the Offinso crash that led to the death of two people at the spot on Monday night.
This brings the death toll to three, with the driver of the trailer involved in the accident being the new victim.
The mate of the trailer is in critical condition.
The crash occurred close to the River Offin Bridge involving a trailer carrying heavy metals, a saloon car and a KIA mini-truck loaded with inflammable substances, together with two passengers on board.
According to eyewitnesses, the trailer and Kia truck were heading towards the Offinso stretch when an oncoming commercial saloon car took an unsafe overtake, causing the accident.
"When the commercial car did that unsafe overtaking, the heavy truck tried to save it by driving on the pedestrian road, but the truck stopped in the road," said an eyewitness.
The KIA truck, which was behind the trailer in the same direction, veered off the road to hit the bridge, and in the process, the inflammable substance caught fire.
The female victim, a building materials trader, and the driver were killed on the spot, with their bodies severely burnt after the truck caught flames.
The injured, including the trailer driver and his mate, are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash.
The Afigya Kwabre North NADMO Director, Kwame Yaro, who confirmed the incident to Adom News, said the road has been cleared to ease the flow of traffic, while the bodies have been sent to the hospital for further investigation and identification.
