Ghanaian midfielder Lawrence Ofori has been officially unveiled as a new player of Portuguese side Casa Pia after mutually terminating his contract with Moreirense.
The 27-year-old joins Casa Pia ahead of the second half of the season and will link up with head coach Álvaro Pacheco as the club looks to strengthen its midfield options.
Ofori was in the final year of his contract at Moreirense and had limited opportunities this season, making just four appearances in the Liga Portugal and registering one assist. The lack of regular playing time is understood to have influenced his decision to seek a move elsewhere.
Following friendly discussions between both parties, the midfielder rescinded his contract with Moreirense, paving the way for his switch to Casa Pia as a free agent.
The process had been well advanced in recent days, with Casa Pia already preparing to finalise the deal despite Mallorca and other European Clubs being in the mix.

Ofori joined Moreirense in July 2023 but struggled to secure a consistent role in the team. He will now be hoping for a fresh start at Casa Pia, as he aims to rediscover regular minutes and regain his form.
According to Transfermarkt, the Ghanaian midfielder has a current market value of €2 million.
