A fire swept through the Anwona Market near Afful Nkwanta in the Kumasi Metropolis on Monday evening, causing extensive damage to shops.
It comes barely twenty‑four hours after a similar incident destroyed properties at a cluster of mechanic shops at Sofoline.
The blaze started around 10 p.m. on Monday, destroying part of the market. The Ghana National Fire Service is already at the scene, attempting to douse the flames.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the section of the footwear factory where flammable materials are usually stored.
