Medeama SC secured a place in the quarter-finals of the 2025/2026 FA Cup after edging past Samartex 1996 in a tense Round of 16 clash on Saturday, February 7, 2026.
The tightly contested encounter at the TNA Stadium in Tarkwa ended goalless after regulation time, forcing the tie to be decided by a penalty shootout.
Medeama showed greater composure from the spot, converting four of their penalties to claim a 4–2 shootout victory over Samartex.
The win sends the Yellow and Mauve into the last eight of the competition, where they join Attram De Visser Academy, who defeated Eleven Wonders on Friday.
Medeama’s progress in the FA Cup keeps their domestic double hopes alive, with the Tarkwa-based side currently sitting at the summit of the Ghana Premier League standings.
