A tragic road traffic collision on the Kintampo Highway has claimed two lives, prompting an urgent emergency response from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
The accident, which occurred on Friday, 13th March 2026, involved a head-on impact between a private vehicle and a public transport minibus.

The Techiman Fire Station received a distress call at 16:42 hrs, reporting a serious collision near Tuobodom. A rescue team was immediately dispatched to the scene to provide critical assistance.
The crash involved an Opel Astra with registration number GW-3932-S and a minibus with registration number GT-4595-11.
Upon arrival, firefighters initiated an extraction operation to reach passengers trapped within the twisted metal of the wreckage.

The GNFS rescue team successfully extricated the injured survivors from the mangled vehicles. These victims were immediately handed over to the ambulance service, which transported them to the Holy Family Hospital for urgent medical attention.
Tragically, the collision proved fatal for two individuals. Their bodies were retrieved from the wreckage by the rescue team and subsequently handed over to the Ghana Police Service to facilitate further investigations and formal identification.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the head-on collision. While the exact circumstances remain under review, the incident has renewed calls from the Bono East regional authorities for increased vigilance among drivers traversing the Kintampo Highway.
