Former Kwahu Afram Plains North Member of Parliament, Betty Seyram Krosbi Mensah, has called on women in politics to reject the notion that “women are their own enemies” and instead become each other’s strength and support system.
Addressing young female students at the TEIN – African University of Communications and Business (AUCB) Women’s Wing summit held on Friday, March 27, 2026, Mensah shared personal experiences of uplifting other women.
She recounted how she single-handedly mentored and supported the current Deputy National Youth Organiser of the NDC and Director General of the National Service Authority, Ruth Dela Seddoh for the party position in 2014 and later campaigning with her across multiple regions after winning her own parliamentary seat in 2017.
“We can be each other’s keeper. We should not wait for people to call us to the table. It’s about time we fight and take up spaces on our own,” she emphasized.
Mensah, who served two terms in Parliament (2017–2024) as one of the few female NDC MPs from the Eastern Region, urged participants to exchange contacts, share ideas, and build networks at such forums.
She highlighted how mutual support helped her and others rise, stressing that together women can drive meaningful change in Ghanaian politics.
