An Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Appiah, has called on the football governing body to analyse why the Black Stars failed to qualify for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Appiah, while leading Sudan to Afcon qualification, Kwesi Appiah found himself on the opposite end of Ghana's fortunes as his former side failed to qualify for the tournament for the first time in two decades.
"It's really unfortunate because everybody thought Ghana would have qualified," Appiah reflected in a interview with BBC Africa.
Kwasi Appiah, who guided Ghana to the 2014 World Cup, expressed concern about the state of Ghanaian football.
“The whole FA needs to sit down and analyse and check what is really going on,” he said.
Appiah's Sudan side not only held Ghana to a 0-0 draw in Accra but also dealt the Black Stars a stunning 2-0 defeat in Benghazi—a result that sealed Ghana’s fate in the qualifying campaign.
