Tanzania has secured a place at next year's AFCON in Morocco, following a 1-0 win over Guinea.
Simon Msuva scored the decisive goal with a header, midway through the second half at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium on Tuesday.
Tuesday's win ensures the Taifa Stars finish second in Group H with 10 points, taking them beyond the reach of third-placed Guinea or bottom-placed Ethiopia in the standings.
Guinea’s Hopes Dashed
Guinea went into the game on the back of three consecutive wins but struggled to breach a miserly Tanzanian rear guard.
Tuesday's defeat effectively ends Guinea’s hopes of qualification as they finish third with nine points.
Tanzania will now make it to a second successive AFCON tournament, and a fourth in the country's history.
Group H Standings (Finalized for Tanzania):
- DR Congo – 12 points (5 matches played)
- Tanzania – 10 points (6 matches played, qualified)
- Guinea – 9 points (6 matches played)
- Ethiopia – 1 point (5 matches played)
