Great Olympics moved to the top of the Ghana Premier League on Monday following their win over Accra Lions at the Accra Sports Stadium.
A Michael Yeboah brace and another from Emmanuel Antwi, all in the first half, were enough for the Wonder Club to move above Bofoakwa Tano.
Their lead on the league table comes under head coach Annor Walker who returned to the club ahead of the start of the 2023/24 season.
This is the first time the club have occupied the summit of the Ghana Premier League in 29 months.
The last time the Wonder Club sat in the first position was at the start of the second round of the 2020/21 season when they beat Medeama Sporting Club at the Accra Sports Stadium on Good Friday.
A lone strike from Samuel Nii Ashie Quaye did the magic for the Accra-based side as they won 1-0 in that fixture.
Walker has managed to forge an unbeaten run so far this season, with his side being one of three teams in the current campaign with that accolade. The Wonder Boys have won two, drawn three and lost none of their five games in the league this campaign.
The former Black Galaxies boss says he hopes his side will continue to secure the top spot until the end of the season.
"I would wish being there to end the league but… I'm sure I'm going to be there for a time at least. The defenders are solid but my attack is where the problem was and we worked on it throughout the week," the gaffer said after the game.
"I had to talk to those who are assisting from the wings and from the middle, the offensive midfielders, to also help so that we can make it and you saw the two goals came from one of my wingers, who is, Michael Yeboah," he added.
Olympics have some tricky fixtures coming up in their next five games as they face last season's runners-up Aduana Football Club away from home, as well as games against Nations Football Club and Bechem United.
Walker's side will also play Nsoatreman Football Club and Dreams Football Club as part of their next five fixtures.
Do you see the Dade Club keeping their momentum in the upcoming games?
