JoySports pundit for Euro 2020, Laryea Kingston, has described former national teammate, Stephen Appiah as the most technical player, he has ever played with.
"Tornado [Stephen Appiah] is someone I grew up with. For me, he is one of the best technical players that I have played with," Laryea said during his punditry duties on Joy Prime.
Appiah, a former Hearts of Oak and Juventus midfielder, led Ghana's Black Stars to back-to-back World Cups in 2006 and in 2010 where their campaigns ended in the round of 16 and quarter-finals, respectively.
Laryea, who played a crucial role alongside his skipper as Ghana booked a ticket to Germany for the 2006 World Cup, as well as the 2006 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt says his technical abilities are unmatched.
Respected worldwide, Stephen had a remarkable career that spanned 20 years.
The 40-year-old played 315 competitive club games, scoring 33 goals, and providing 12 assists.
The former U17 star is still remembered by Juventus for his role in their 2003 Supercoppa Italiana win and also by Parma for their Coppa Italia win in 2002.
The versatile midfielder could play in attacking areas, as a box-to-box, or defensive midfielder.
He had the ability to fit into any system and due to his humility, he was appreciated by everyone he played with.
Laryea Kingston could not hide his admiration for Appiah
"It is not because he is in the studio with me, but I have so much respect for him as a player.
"I feel honored to have played with him. His technical ability, you cannot take it away from him.
"These are the guys that when you are playing with, they make the game easy for you, " he noted
Laryea and Appiah played together for the national team between 2002 to 2008.
