The Omanhene of Asumagya and Benkumhene of Asanteman, Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama, has assured the Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, of the support of his people, in his bid to be elected the next President of Ghana.
As part of his tour of the Ashanti Region, Dr. Bawumia visited Amansie, in the Bekwai Constituency on Tuesday, where he engaged Constituency stakeholders, including traditional rulers and religious leaders, to explain his policies to them and also seek their support.
Welcoming Dr. Bawumia, the Omanhene of Asumagya, while urging the NPP and Dr. Bawumia to continue with development projects in the constituency, also assured the Vice President that they will also offer him the needed support to ensure he succeeds.
“We know why you are here," the Omanhene said to Dr. Bawumia. "You are here to seek our support and solicit our votes. We will help, we will be with you and make it possible. Dr, we are with you and we are behind you,” he added.

While assuring the Vice President, he also added that the support being offered should be reciprocated under his government.
"What we will say is that if you take good care of us, we will also take good care of you,” said the Omanhene, as he listed a number of priorities for his people to be considered by the government of Dr. Bawumia.
Among issues of priorities raised by Odeneho Okyere Kusi Ntrama included inner roads of towns around Amansie, a specialised hospital for the community as well as a university.
He also urged Dr. Bawumia to look into curbing galamsey, adding that traditional rulers should be involved in his policies to address galamsey.
Addressing the stakeholders, Dr. Bawumia expressed gratitude to Nananom and the other stakeholders for their kind words of support.
On the issues raised, Dr. Bawumia assured Nananom that he is for community development and as President, he will prioritise the concerns raised as President.
He assured the community to support him because he will be more accountable to them, as he will seek re-election and will have to come back to them and account for his stewardship unlike his main opponent.
