The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso East, Baba Ali, has declared that the constituency is poised for a political shift, expressing confidence that the seat will change hands in the ongoing election.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday, he noted that voter sentiment indicates a strong desire for change.
"Let’s wait till 5.pm, the Aywaso East seat will change hands. Insha Allah. It is obvious we are going to win this election,” he said
Baba Ali encouraged residents to exercise their franchise peacefully and increase voter turnout in his favour.
Commenting on the Global InfoAnalytics poll that tips NDC’s Baba Jamal to win Ayawaso East by-election with 75%, he dismissed the credibility of the polls, arguing that the reality on the ground tells a different story.
“Not long ago, you conducted a poll in Ayawaso here — and what happened? This is Ayawaso East. Here, the data doesn’t work in that manner. What is happening currently on the grounds will prove that the data is clearly wrong. So let’s wait and see,” he stated.
On the conduct of the election, Baba Ali described the process so far as peaceful and orderly.
