The Bibiani Magistrate Court presided over by His Lordship Delvin Essandoh in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region, has remanded a 42-year-old farmer, Kofi Nkrumah, into Police custody for two weeks.
He's to reappear before the court on the 3rd of April 2025, for attempting to kill his ex-wife, Grace Akose Akowuah 45, in a bush at Sefwi Chirano in the same municipality.
According to reports, they had married for about 15 years but have broken up recently due to a misunderstanding that occurred between them.
The suspect, Kofi Nkrumah, who inflicted severe cutlass wounds on his ex-wife, left her beside a river in a pool of blood, thinking she was dead.
Upon hearing the victim had been resuscitated, he escaped to avert arrest but luck eluded him and was subsequently arrested by security personnel of the Ghana Bauxite Company at Awaso as soon as they received the information from the family members of the victim.
He was then handed over to the Awaso police and was later taken to the Bibiani Police Command for further investigation.
He was put before the Bibiani Magistrate Court after he was interrogated.
The ex-wife, Grace Akose Akowuah, narrated to Adom News how she was attacked by her ex-husband.
