The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare says the crime rate in Ghana has reduced significantly.
According to the IGP, recent programmes and policies initiated by the Police leadership are making significant impact.
Speaking at the commissioning of some 320-bedroom apartments for Police Officers at Tesano in Accra, Dr Dampare said Policing dynamics have changed.
“We have been able to deploy policing to the doorsteps of communities which they had never seen, such that now policing has come so close to the doorsteps of the communities and members of the communities in such a way that it has affected the dynamics of crime in this country.
“Ghana has become one of the most peaceful countries in the world,” the Inspector-General of Police said.
