The vibrant premises of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communications Directorate is unusually quiet on this morning.
The scheduled periodic press briefings failed to take place.
JoyNews correspondent Kenneth Gyasi reported that between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m., two press conferences were expected to be held at the Communications Directorate.
This morning, the NPP officials seem to have abandoned their Communications Directorate.

This was the same spot where Miracles Aboagye delivered his midnight address, claiming that the governing party was winning the polls. But the sudden silence on the once-buzzing… pic.twitter.com/LjpLxEfDFM
According to the schedule shared earlier, the first briefing was slated for 11:45 p.m., and the second for 2 a.m. However, neither of these events occurred.
This marks a departure from the traditional approach of addressing the nation from the party's national headquarters.
Instead, the NPP had chosen the Communications Directorate as the focal point for disseminating information, with setups used earlier by Bawumia campaign spokesperson Miracles Aboagye and the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, for addressing the press and supporters.
JoyNews reported that the premises, previously bustling with activity, were left deserted as of 2:30 AM on Sunday.
“Just an hour and a half ago, this area was filled with vehicles belonging to party executives. Now, it’s only security personnel and members of the press who remain,” Kenneth Gyasi stated.
Despite being told they would be updated with election figures over the next three days, journalists at the site have not received any official communication since the last briefing.
The lack of activity and communication has left the press wondering about the next steps.
The JoyNews reporter noted that while the party had assured the media of consistent updates, "not a single executive is currently present to provide information."
