Aduana FC secured a hard-fought 1-0 win away at Nations FC in their outstanding matchday 20 fixture at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex.
Both sides entered the game on the back of impressive performances on matchday 24.
Aduana had hosted and defeated in-form Gold Stars 2-0 at the Nana Agyeman Badu Stadium, while Nations FC overcame Medeama 2-1 at home.
However, after a fiercely contested encounter, it was the Dormaa-based side that clinched back-to-back victories, courtesy of a beautiful strike by forward Emmanuel Marfo in the 71st minute.
The defeat is a big blow to Kassim Mingle’s side, who are in contention for the league title and desperate to close the gap on the leaders.
The loss leaves them sixth in the standings, five points behind leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
Aduana FC, on the other hand, are now on a four-game unbeaten streak and sit 11th, eight points above the relegation zone.
Up next, Aduana will face Medeama at the TNA Stadium, while Nations FC travel to Tema to take on Vision FC.
