Medeama SC moved level on points with Hearts of Oak following their win over Karela United on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
The Tarkwa-based side edged out Karela in a thrilling game at the TNA Stadium claiming all three points with a 1-0 score.
Kofi Asmah scored the only goal of the game in the first half coming from a set piece in added time.
Medeama had picked up two wins and three losses prior to the game while Karela had managed just one win in their last five games.
Both teams made a good start to the game and created chances but failed to break the deadlock.
However, when the game seemed to be heading into the break, Asmah rose highest in the Karela box to head home the opening goal.
Karela’s attempts in the second half did very little to affect the score as the game ended 1-0.
The win sees Medeama stay in 7th place with 25 points, five off the top position after 15 games played.
