Accra Hearts of Oak’s inconsistent form continued in the Ghana Premier League as they were held by Vision F.C in a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
The two goals aside, the match was more or less a sparring session.
Hearts took the lead just before the interval when Kelvin Osei Asibey profited from some calamitous defending to stab home the opener.
Vision F.C. goalkeeper had come out to claim a cross, but misjudged the flight of the ball and missed it. With his defenders slow to react, Osei-Asibey’s tenacity was rewarded when he stretched to connect with his left foot to give Hearts the lead.
After the interval, Vision started on the front, stretching the Phobian defense twice.
When the goal came seconds later, it was easier than they expected.
Hearts of Oak's Raphael Amponsah made a half-hearted attempt to keep the ball on the edge of the area and somehow missed it.
Adjetey Sowah, who was half an inch away from Amponsah, took full advantage when he curled the ball far beyond the reach of Hearts goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
Even at his elastic limit, the Black Stars number one could not keep out Sowah’s debut Premier League goal for Vision F.C.
While both teams had sights of goal, neither did enough to score the winner until game came to a close.
Hearts remain in 6th place with 41 points, six fewer than league leaders Asante Kotoko.
Meanwhile, Vision F.C. have now amassed 29 points and are just three points above the relegation zone.
