Former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan says he understands reports of Andre Ayew being upset following his omission from the latest Black Stars squad.
Ayew was left out of Ghana's 26-man squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic as announced on Wednesday by head coach Otto Addo.
Coming off the back of a good season with Le Havre, the 34-year-old had expected to make the squad for the two crucial games.
Addo confirmed Ayew didn't agree with the decision to leave him out with reports also adding the 34-year-old is unhappy.
However, Gyan believes the reaction from the team's captain is 'normal.'
"If it was me, I wouldn't be happy which is a normal thing but at the end of the day the coach has made the decision so we have to just support," he said speaking on Joy Sports' Game Plan.
"We shouldn't forget Andre is already a legend."
Ghana will travel to face Mali in Bamako on June 6 before returning to Kumasi for the home game against Central African Republic.
