Chairman of Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee, Nana Apinkrah, has slammed the Ghana Football Association for their handling of the incident regarding the death of club fan Francis Frimpong, also known as "Pooley."
"Pooley" was stabbed to death during the Porcupines' clash with Nsoatreman in Nsoatre in Week 19 of Ghana’s top-flight league.
The Nana Koromansah II Park has since been banned indefinitely.
Six players from Nsoatreman FC have also been formally charged by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for misconduct and unsporting behavior.
However, Kotoko are not satisfied with the FA’s actions regarding the incident.
“You [GFA] are only issuing fines, to the extent you are fining people who were not even involved. It's as if you don't care," Apinkrah told the Ghana FA in a meeting.
"We are angry because it's painful. It's very painful.
"I was expecting that by this time the GFA would have probed into the whole situation including Ignatius Baffour Awuah who incited the fans against us.”
The fatal incident led to the suspension of the division as the Ghana FA met with the 18 Premier League clubs to discuss measures to curb such acts.
Meanwhile, seven arrests have been made, including Nsoatreman FC bankroller Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, following Pooley’s death.
The former Employment and Labour Relations Minister has been placed under a movement restriction order by District Court “B” in Sunyani.
