Eric Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, is set to hold an awards ceremony for the second cohort of beneficiaries under his scholarship initiative called The Ketu North Scholar.
The ceremony is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 22, 2026, in Dzodze and will recognise students from the constituency at tertiary institutions who have successfully qualified for support under the programme.
The Ketu North Scholar scheme was launched in 2025 to support brilliant but needy students from the constituency to pursue tertiary education.
During its first year, the programme supported more than 300 students, providing scholarships valued at over GH¢1.3 million to assist them with tuition and other educational expenses.
For the second cohort, a total of 786 applications were received from students across the constituency.
After a rigorous screening and interview process conducted by the scholarship committee, 400 applicants were selected to be beneficiaries.
The awards ceremony will formally recognise the successful students and present them with their scholarship packages; it will also highlight the importance of education in the constituency's development.
The initiative forms part of Mr Agbana’s commitment to investing in human capital and empowering the youth of Ketu North through education, ensuring that financial challenges do not prevent talented students from achieving their academic aspirations.
