Joy News analysis programme, Newsfile discussed the coronavirus outbreak in Ghana and the preparedness of government to handle the issue.
The host of the show, Samson Lardy Anyenini, and his panel, dived into the directives by President Akufo-Addo, which includes the closure of all schools and a ban on public gathering.
Also, President Akufo-Addo in an address on Sunday, March 15, directed the Finance Ministry to make available some $100million to help fight the coronavirus outbreak in Ghana after the first six cases were recorded.
But Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has disclosed that the $100 million devoted by the President to fight the pandemic is not yet available.
He said the government had applied to the World Bank to tap into the $12billion Fast Track COVID-19 Facility for Poverty and the $10billion facility managed by International Monetary Fund (IMF) to address the pandemic.
What does this mean for Ghana with confirmed cases now at 16?
All these and more were addressed by the panelists, who also did justice to other trending issues that have emanated since the outbreak.
Guests included Dr. Patrick Aboagye who is the Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Titus Beyuo who is the Deputy General Secretary and Member of the Infectious Diseases Committee of the Ghana Medical Association and Pharmacist/Lead Consultant for Royal Crown Consult, George Yeboah Kesse.
