Medeama Sporting Club triumphed over Dreams Football Club on Sunday at the Cape Coast Stadium in the Champions of Champions clash.
The game, which serves as a curtain-raiser for the 2023/23 season saw the Ghana Premier League champions square off with the MTN FA Cup winners.
A Jonathan Sowah brace in the first half was enough to ensure the Tarkwa-based side were crowned winners on the day.
Sowah, who was named in Chris Hughton's Black Stars' squad on Saturday, opened the scoring in the 19th minute of the game to put Medeama ahead.
It didn't take long for him to add to his tally on the day as he registered his second goal of the evening four minutes later and sent Dreams crushing.
Dreams FC did very little to threaten the game heading into the break at 2-0 for the Yellow and Mauves.
The Dawu-based team, however, did find the back of the net through a spot kick with Agyenim Boateng Mensah scoring in the 78th minute.
That was all time could allow them to as the encounter ended 2-1 in favour of Medeama, who add the title to the Premier League trophy under Evans Adotey.
