On Sunday, January 21, 2024, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) convened an Extraordinary Constituency Delegates Conference to officially endorse unopposed Aspiring Parliamentary Candidates.
Following Article 7(31) of the NPP's constitution, delegates in Tolon backed Habib Iddrisu for a second term in Parliament through a unanimous popular acclamation.
The endorsement took place at the Sari Conference Hall in the Northern Region, with the Tolon Electoral Commission (EC) District Officer, Ben Teye, overseeing the event.
Thousands of delegates participated, solidifying their support for the incumbent parliamentary candidate.

Frank Annor Dompreh, the sitting MP for Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Majority Chief Whip, lauded Tolon's legislative representative as a valuable asset.
He attributed significant parliamentary achievements to the contributions of Tolon's representative, emphasising the role played in various accomplishments within the legislative arena.
“If there has been any success chalked in parliament, Habib played a role. In this context and as the saying goes, behind every successful whip is a deputy whip.”
“This is my first time coming to my colleague Habib’s constituency, but I can feel his popularity on my skin. Don’t take your Member of Parliament for granted; he is probably the first MP to be in leadership in his first term.”

The Member of Parliament for Tolon and the second Deputy Majority Chief Whip characterized the day as a powerful demonstration of unity and solidarity within the Tolon constituency.
He extended an appeal to all constituency executives, urging them to foster unity for collective success.
“In 2020, we won 75 out of 129 polling stations with a parliamentary gap of 9,280. This time we aim higher; we must win every polling station.”
