The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has referred petitions against its Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, to the party’s National Council for consideration.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, September 24, 2025, the party said it had received formal petitions from members demanding the removal of Mr. Owusu Bempah from office over conduct described as a matter of “grave concern.”
The party explained that since his appointment was made on the recommendation of the National Executive Committee and later approved by the National Council, the issue has been formally referred to the Council for appropriate action.
“The Party reaffirms its unwavering commitment to upholding discipline, safeguarding its values, and ensuring that all matters are handled with fairness and transparency,” the statement, signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, noted.
The development comes amid rising internal debates about party discipline and accountability as the NPP prepares for crucial electoral contests.
