Four Senior High Schools will battle for the bragging rights of being National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) 2021 Greater Accra Regional Champions.
The face-off, involving Presec Legon, Achimota School, Chemu and Odorgonno SHS will be held on Thursday, May 6 at the Accra College of Education.
Both Presec Legon and Achimota School have a history, in which each school has defeated the other since the maiden edition of the Regional Championship.
Achimota School beat Presec Legon to win the first-ever regional contest while Presec Legon made a comeback in the subsequent year to be crowned Regional Champions.
Both schools are expected to give each other a run for their money after beating St Thomas Aquinas SHS, OLAM SHS and Ashaiman SHS.
Meanwhile, contestants of Chemu and Odorgonno SHS are poised to subdue defending Champions Presec Legon and other contending schools.
Emerging victorious over Accra Academy, Tema Methodist, West Africa SHS and Ghanata SHS, both Chemu and Odorgonno SHS are hopeful of winning the title, Greater Accra Regional Champions.
Supporters of the various schools are entreated to participate through virtual channels as part of measures to curb spead of Covid-19.
Rundown on Wednesday's Regional Championship contest
2020 NSMQ champions, Presec Legon with 50 points beat Odorgonno and Ashaiman SHS to move to the next stage.
With 40 points, Chemu SHS kicked out Accra Academy, Tema Methodist SHS, Holy Trinity Cathedral SHS to qualify for the next round.
At the end of a fierce battle, one-time Champion, St Thomas Aquinas SHS and OLAM SHS were shown the exist after Achimota School rightly answered a tie-breaker question and progressed to the next stage.
Also a keen contest, Odorgonno garnered 39 points to beat its rivals, West Africa SHS and Ghanata SHS.
