FC Samartex produced a composed performance to defeat Bibiani GoldStars 2-0 in their Ghana Premier League round 13 encounter at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday.
The win lifts Samartex to 21 points in sixth position and keeps them firmly in the top half of the table.
Emmanuel Essien opened the scoring in the 5th minute with a well-placed finish that settled the home side quickly.
Ten minutes later, Emmanuel Mamah doubled the lead from the penalty spot, confidently converting after a foul in the area.
The early two-goal cushion allowed Samartex to control the tempo, limiting GoldStars to half chances while maintaining their defensive shape.
Despite pushing forward in the second half, GoldStars created few clear openings and were unable to reduce the deficit. The defeat leaves them on 22 points in fourth, narrowly ahead of the chasing pack.
Samartex will travel next to face Basake Holy Stars, while GoldStars return home for a challenging fixture against Medeama.
