President of Rugby Africa and former Asante Kotoko chairman, Herbert Mensah, has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to "stop talking so much" and take firm action against hooliganism.
Speaking in Scars of Hooliganism, a JoySports documentary that explores the emotional and structural impact of violence in Ghana football, Herbert called out the GFA’s inaction in the face of repeated fan misconduct.
“The FA themselves have got to stop talking so much and do more,” he said.
Mensah believes the current leadership must adopt tried-and-tested solutions implemented in other footballing nations.
“[The FA should] put in the same measures that have been put in around the world.”
“The clubs have a sense of responsibility - they have to. You see abroad where people receive life bans. There are cameras in place to pick things up.”
The documentary airs all day on JoyNews, Monday, June 23, 2025, and features powerful testimonies from players, referees, supporters, and key stakeholders whose lives have been scarred by football-related violence.
